IceToolz brake shoe tuner
IceToolz is a brand that focuses on both the professional and the (better) do-it-yourselfer in the bicycle industry. But the ordinary cyclist also comes into the picture with handy maintenance products and easy-to-use items. IceToolz is a brand where you can find those things that make your hobby as a cyclist or mechanic or as a bicycle craftsman easier. Note the orange detail: choice of the craftsman.
The IceToolz brake shoe tuner is a tool for professionals and do-it-yourselfers. With the arrow pointing towards the direction of travel of the wheel clamped over the rim, the ideal position of the brake pads can be determined.
f the brake pads are placed completely parallel to the rim, there is a good chance that they will squeak. The brake pads must be placed with “toe-in”. This means that the front of the brake pads point slightly closer to the rim than the rear. The brake shoe tool has already been taken into account with this skew, toe-in. The front of the brake shoe tuner is slightly thinner than the rear. The correct height can also be easily determined with the brake shoe tool. Mount the brake pads against the top edge of the brake shoe tuner and the brake shoe/pads are in the correct position. The extra tool used in the video below is the IceToolz cable collet (IceToolz article number 01A1). A handy tool for this.
